Gomba

The village is accessible from highway.It is placed from the 4.numbered mainroad,at Monor's winding accessroad to Úri.
In the village there used to be a tower in the bronze age.The excavations' findings proved that this village was lived in the B.C:1700-1600 too.Many owner were known from the XIV. Century.By the 1337. 1st of August document the owner of the village was László Gombai, who gave the name of the village,GOMBA.
The stayed alive meanwhile the turkey occupied territory.From the end of the XVII. Century it was owned by the Fáy family.
Except them Patay-,Puky-, Dapsy-, Wartensleben-, Tahy-, Máriásy-, Perczel family also had possession in the XVIII-XIX Century.
András Fáy, the big storyteller,the handyman of the country,used to lived here for a long time.

FÁY-MANSION

Fáy family built their baroque style mansion and side buildings in the XVIII. Century.The building was renovated into neo-classical style in the 1810's.András Fáy,the handyman of the country, spent his holidays at his family members between 1773-1800,and between 1818-20 he used to live here.In the XIX.Century the possession lived very sparkling spiritual life.Many contemporary writer and politician was on holiday there.The mansion had a lot of owner from the XIX.century,for example the Scitovszky family, and after that they used to use the place for making school on the possession.After the World War II. the possession became the own of the farming co-op.The additoins were destroyed because of the bad conditoin of the buildnigs.Today, the Prime Minister's office is found at the nicely rehab middle part of it.The past park of the mansion is still intact.

BÁRCZAY-CASSTLE

The L-formed storeyed casstle was built in baroque style at the end of the XVIII. Century by the Fáy family.
The new owner,András Bárczay, made the storeys be pulled on the buildings, that's how it has it's actuall shape.
At the war of the independence in 1848-49, when the government esceped to Debrecen, Bertalan Szemere and his retinue would have protected the crown here in the casstle.This building became the place of the farming co-ops.The last economy side buildings of the mansion is standing.

PATAY-CASSTLE

A barokk stílusú kastélyt 1790 körül emelték a Bárczayak. A XIX. század elejétől a PThe baroque styled casstle was built by Bárczay around 1790's.The building's owner was Patay family from the beginning of the XIX.Century.József Patay, a leader of the opposition, lived here for a short time.
The building became the András Fáy House of Culture and Library, after many reconstructs.

REFORMED CHURCH

The baroque styled church was built in 1776 by the plans of József Jung.The tower,placed at the front, was built in 1904.

PERCZEL-MANSION

The neo-classical styled, single storeyed U formed building was built by Márton Puky at the beginning of the XIX.Century.
The building's garden side is storeyed,this the interest of the mansion.
József Katona wrote a few parts of the Bánk Bán here as a guest of the family.
